12 inches, ebony with a dragon heartstring core, quite springy
Patronus
Snow Leopard. A shape he adapted after his professor of divination, whom he would often pester, called him satan. To annoy the teacher further, he adapted the shape of a snow leopard since it’s usually associated with the devil in symbolism. He thinks of the first time he held his daughter at the hospital.
Amorentia
Books, lime, wine and spices.
Mirror of Erised
Standing in the highest towers of Hogwarts with all magical knowledge to be had all around him.
Boggart
Falling into darkness, with no means of doing anything about it.
Personality
A perfectionist, Wentworth has little patience for incompetence or recklessness. Stupid people annoy him like you wouldn’t believe and he won’t hesitate to wack his less intelligent students over the head or insult them. It is true, Wentworth does tend to show some students more favor than others, the smarter ones are generally made to feel welcome and loved while the dumb ones are ignored or in some cases treated like crap, this has resulted in him getting a kind of love him or hate him reputation around the school. He encourages competition between his students, believing it’s one of the greatest driving forces a human can have. To his fellow adults he seems charming enough, maybe even benevolent at times. A man of quite sarcastic humor and sharp wits, but also a rude person who obviously has an high opinion of himself. Having an intelligent conversation with a fellow professor isn’t something he would say no to any time soon, after all he is an educated man with many cultural and philosophical appetites. He’s arrogant enough to believe he’s smarter than most but not stupid enough to believe he can best everyone. He analyses a situation deeply before deciding on whether it is worth his effort or not but if he does involve himself he’ll speak his mind and act with little consideration to others.
Wentworth’s goals are mostly academical. He seeks to expand his knowledge, paying no heed to society’s rules, such as the one banning necromancy. His obsessive personality contributes to this as well. He fixates on things, obsesses over particularities and will not stop until he is sated. One might say he’s got a real thirst to delve into the unknown. Wentworth hides his darker activities well, the fact that he gets away with so much is disturbing, especially for a person who’s been on the ministry's list of possible dark wizards and witches for years.
Being a suave Wentworth has gotten into a lot of relationships through the years. Although a good time is always guaranteed, he’s got huge problems holding onto lovers and friends. The secrets he harbor are kept under lock and key, there is a point with Wentworth that you simply can’t cross. The constant mystery about him might seem intriguing at first but as time passes, this becomes a point of breaking in any relationship. Luckily Wentworth isn’t the type to hold onto the past, he soldiers on no matter what.
In the end of the day Wentworth is his own man, living for Wentworth Davenport and no one else. He refuses to change for anyone, keeping his secrets to himself. He likes the aura of mystery this gives him. His single-minded determination to expand his knowledge and power remains his main driving force, a goal that has cost him a lot but Wentworth insists that it’s worth it. All things considered, Wentworth isn’t a bad guy, he might act like one every once in a while but he’s really just a man that has learned to depend on himself.

History
Wentworth was born a half-blood. His mother, Grace Davenport, was a desendant of the Raveclaw pureblood family, the Davenports. At the mere age of seventeen, she ran away from home with a dutch mudblood. Her father, Alistair Davenport, was devestated when he found out about this and even more so when he discovered she had died in childbirth a year later. With the father nowhere in sight, the child was left with Alistair to raise on his own. Although he agreed to take care of the boy, he always looked at him with disgust. Growing up with his emotionally absent and abusive grandfather resulted in a great belligerence developing within the young boy. He would pull all sorts of pranks and shenanigans to get his grandfather's attention, this only led to Alistair despising his grandson even more than he already did. Luckily, he didn’t have to put up with his grandson anymore as he was old enough to attend a proper school of wizardry. Alistair made sure to get his son sent to Hogwards were he could be the headmaster’s problem instead.
When at Hogwards, he was sorted into house Slytherin were he immediately felt at home. It soon became clear that he had a real talent for Charms and Transfiguration but also potion making. As a matter of fact, he became a bit of a legend because of his talent in Transfiguration. This didn’t mean that his earlier behavior stopped. He would often pester the groundskeeper, his professor in herbology and his professor in divination. Aside from those three he was quite popular with the other professors but most of all his fellow Slytherins whom he truly felt at home with, they were practically a second family. During breaks Wentworth wasn’t welcome back home, so he had to stay at Hogwarts. As he wandered the empty halls, he would often go to the library were he soon found himself sneaking into the restricted section. It was there he got interested in the dark arts. Those books about dark magic would soon become his obsession, an interested that hasn’t died off till this day. Sure it was dangerous, but that only added to the excitement. As the years passed, no one found out about his late night snooping in the restricted section, not until his last year at Hogwarts. A student caught a peek at an experiment of his that was quite obviously one of dark magic. The student soon found a teacher who immediately went to stop him. Wentworth was barely able to destroy all traces of his experiment before the professor burst through the doors. As there was no way to prove he was practicing the dark arts, he was let off the hook but his name would soon find itself on a list the ministry was keeping over known or possible dark wizards and witches.
When Wentworth eventually graduated, this list would become his curse. Any jobs related to the ministry was closed off to him. His ambitions to become an unspeakable was crushed as he went from job interview to job interview only to be turned down. It was here his deep dislike for the ministry began. With his earlier plans in ruin, Wentworth had to find new ambitions. He found this at Gringotts as a Curse-Breaker. Gringotts didn’t care about his past with the dark arts, in fact, they treasured it. Having a man of his unusual skills was a privilege they were more than happy to have. It was perfect for him, he got to be around all sort of ancient, magical places and travel the world. Thus, he worked there for almost twenty years. He soon became famous for his work as a Curse-Breaker. He also published several papers on Transfiguration. Because of his legend, he was welcomed in the highest echelons of soceity. He made friends with many wealthy families and prominent scholars. Some of his friends shared his interest in the dark arts and together, they expanded their knowledge. During these years he got married three times but none of his marriages lasted for more than four years. Wentworth only fathered one child, a daughter, whom he loved. When his ex-wife managed to get full custody his heart broke. He became reckless at work, endangering the lives of his fellow Curse-Breakers and putting Gringotts interests at peril and because of this, he lost his job along with his daughter.
Once again, Wentworth had nothing. But just like before, he got back up and looked to the future instead of the past. There was a need for a Transfiguration professor at Hogwarts, he saw an opportunity and made sure to seize upon it. Following a long discussion with the headmaster at the time, Wentworth managed to convince him that he was no longer a dark wizard. With that aside, he was more than happy to accept the famous Curse-Breaker and scholar as his new Transfiguration professor. Of course, Wentworth was lying, his interest in the dark arts remain with him to this day, something he has been able to keep from Hogwarts for three years now. Not long after being hired as Transfiguration professor, Wentworth was made Head of House Slytherin. An honor he was more than happy to accept.
