Sarafina yawned and rolled over in bed, hugging the pillow by her head tightly, willing her eyes to open while her body screamed "just five more minutes!" She groaned and hid beneath her comforter as her blinds automatically opened as the alarm went off. It was a Sunday morning, but Sarafina knew that she couldn't afford to sleep in; she had entirely too much work that she had to do before noon, when she would head outside to have lunch with Lillian.
Lillian. That caused a bother groan to escape Sarafina, and this time she took the pillow and put it on top of her head. The last thing she needed right now was to think about that woman. Her Deputy Headmistress. One of her only friends. And the woman she had been sporting a crush for since she started teaching here. That woman affected her like no one else before her, and Sarafina hated it. She had hated her sexuality since she knew about it, always hiding it, and ever since she had become Headmistress, she had promised herself that she wouldn't even think about a woman. And then Lillian happened. Sarafina found herself denying thoughts and feelings for the woman all day long.
Sarafina sighed as her alarm went off again, knowing that she couldn't delay getting out of bed any more. Summoning her fuzzy robe, she wrapped it around herself before climbing out of the covers to keep warm. Slipping on her slippers she dragged herself to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Sarafina then spent the rest of the morning flooing with the Ministry, writing letters and dealing with other various paper work. By the time noon had rolled around, she felt haggard and couldn't have been more excited to have a break.
Sarafina summoned over her broomstick, a picnic basket and her favorite wine: a red Appellation Patrimonio Controlée aged seven years from one of her favorite vineyards in France. Sarafina needed a break, and what better way than opening one of her favorite wines? She added the bottle to the picnic basket along with cheese, crackers and a crembrulee she had one of the house elves whip up for her.
Minimizing the basket and the broomstick, she put them in her pockets before changing into a raven and flying out of the open window towards the pitch. She wanted to avoid the corridors as much as possible; she didn't want students or other professors trying to talk to her and then take up most of her break. She did, after all, only have about an hour.
There were quite a few students about as it was a nice day, but Sarafina wasn't too worried; they had a meeting place near the Forbidden Forest between the black lake and the quidditch pitch. Most students didn't know about it because it required a "special touch" to get in (much like the Whomping Willow), one more reason Sarafina needed to be in her animagus form. Flying to the highest branch, she pushed one of her talons into a small hole in the branch which allowed a person to pass through the invisible barrier that had been there moments before and would stay open until Sarafina did the same thing with her talon. She flew down to the ground and transfigured into her regular self before transfiguring her broomstick and picnic basket to their normal sizes as well.
"So...flying or lunch first?" she asked the tree.
