Personality
Finn is the epitome of perfection, or he believes so. He excels in everything he does. There isn't anything he attempts that he doesn't accomplish remarkably. He comes from a long line of pure-blood witches and wizards. Not that he doesn't like muggles and half-blood witches and wizards, he's just particularly proud of his heritage and he wouldn't trade it for the world. His father is his best friend. He looks up to him like no other and has followed in his footsteps all his life. His father was placed in Gryffindor when he was in Hogwarts and he was also prefect and Head Boy. The one thing Finn has done that his father didn't was become Quidditch team captain. His father had been a beater, but couldn't be more proud of him that he passed even everything he accomplished in school.
Finn believes his mother is more holier than the Mother Theresa, more close to the Virgin Mary. If he didn't know better, he'd be sure that he had been immaculately conceived. His mother is the most perfect person he's ever known. His mother could never do wrong. When Finn got his acceptance letter, the first person he told was his momma. As soon as his father got home, Finn went straight to his father and told him that it came. Kent Kingston couldn't have been more proud of him. Finn reveled in that pride.
Finn is quite full of himself, but he's got his mother's compassion. He's nicer than most people give him credit for. He's very self-centered and everyone knows that. But they're surprised when they find out that he actually cares about all the students, even though he's a Gryffindor and there's the ever-present rivalry between the two houses, he still cares about all the people in Slytherin. Also, even though he cares deeply about his bloodline, being his mother's son, he doesn't let rivalries get in the way of seeing who the person really is.
One thing Finn doesn't do is relationships. The only time he's ever done anything with a girl is when Hogwarts has had a dance or other social event. It's not that he doesn't like girls. He likes them a lot, but he's more interested in his education right now and wanting to excel in it and graduate, getting into his profession at the Ministry of Magic before focusing on a girl. He'd like to be able to take care of a girl before opening himself out to one. His father had only had is mother Isolde before he married her, and Finn expects his life and relationship to be the same.
Finn loves being Head Boy and revels the most in it. His father is proud of him, and because of that, it makes his position even that more sweet. He loves pleasing his father above all else and wouldn't do anything to disappoint him. He doesn't think he's better than anyone else, but he does think he's really hot stuff.

History
Finnegan Beaulieu-Kingston was born several months early after his mother, Isolde Beaulieu-Kingston, was cursed by a dark wizard. They were taken immediately to a Wizarding hospital where she was barely able to give birth to him before both of them died. Finn remained in their intensive care unit, under the close watch of specialty wizard and witch doctors. His father, Kent Kingston's attention was split between his wife and his newborn son. Finn was able to leave the hospital long before Isolde was. He was a strong baby and able to gain the weight he needed. Nothing magical the doctors tried worked on either him nor his mother, but because Isolde had gone into a coma from the dark wizard's attack, she did not recover near as easily as Finn did.
It wasn't until Finn was almost a year old that his mother came out of her coma, but he still knew her. From the moment she came home, he knew she was his momma and it was as though they had never been apart from each other. Ever since then, the three of them have been extremely close and nothing comes between them. Because of the curse, Isolde was unable to have anymore children, but this didn't hurt Finn's parents. It only made them grow stronger together. Finn admires his parents relationship and hopes that one day he can have the same type of relationship when he gets older. He tries to emulate his father with each and everything he does.
Finn wanted so badly to be on the Quidditch team, but because of rules, first year students weren't ever able to be on the team, no matter how good they are or claim they are. Finn, even though he hated that, was hard to accept. As much as he would like to do what he wants, Finn always listens to the rules. Even if he'd like to change them, or break them all together, he doesn't. He knows that rules are set in place to keep people safe. It's this thinking that put him in the position of Prefect the last few years, and then head boy this year. It's what he's striven for, and he knows that the only way it's going to happen is if he follows the rules, no matter how hard they are to keep.
Finn is completely dedicated to his schooling, and hopes to continue to follow in his father's footsteps. Kent works in the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Law as the Director of Aurors. Finn wants to be an Auror after commencement. Even though he hasn't graduated from Hogwarts, he is doing all he can to help to find those who are practicing the dark arts. Of course, no one is going to talk to him if they know he's trying to uncover all the dark magic users, but as Head Boy, he'd do his best to “bust” them by catching them in their dark acts. With all the professors and others who may be teaching and partaking in the dark arts, he's going to do his best just as Head Boy to uncover them.
