Patronus
Lioness. A mother always protects her children, and the lion is one of the fiercest of animals. They can also be the most nuturing, so she thinks of the time she had to wrap her blanket she was wrapped in as a baby around one of the small girls at the orphanage to comfort her and it conjures the Lioness. The blanket was a soft brown microfibre that reminds her of petting large cats.
Amorentia
Vanilla and lavender, favorite scents
Mirror of Erised
Holding her child, a baby conceived out of love and to have her baby's father standing beside her.
Boggart
To loose a child.
Personality
Bess has always loved children. When she was growing up in the orphanage, she always helped take care of the children younger than her. She has always wanted a family of her own because she's never known who her family was or where they came from. Her parents were most likely magic-users considering she was left at a wizarding orphanage, but she will never know the truth. The only thing she has from her parents is the blanket she was wrapped in when she was left on the steps of the orphanage. She was only 3 months old.
She loves animals because she is able to care for them the way she would a child. She's very kind and nurturing and always caring towards animals and children alike. She has worked for several years at the Ministry of Magic in the Magical Creatures division and has considered each of the animals she is in care of at the Ministry as her own. She would sooner protect an animal as opposed to a human. But threaten a child and an animal, she'd do her best to figure out a way to protect both of them. If it came right down to it, she would protect the child, of course, but she would mourn the animal as she would any dead person.
Bess loves everything about animals. She owns a few herself, but not many. Of course, she has an owl she calls Fezziwig, Fezz or Fezzie for short, and a cat she calls Ignatius, or Iggy for short. She would almost rather have a conversation with Iggy or Fezz any day of the week, as opposed to polite conversation with anyone, at least they won't talk back. It's not that she likes to hear herself talk, she just likes to be right about what she is talking about. And neither Fezz nor Iggy are going to tell her differently. Although, if one or both of them started talking to her, she would most definitely listen. They are probably her best friends.
She tends to stay out of intellectual conversations. It's not as though she's not smart. She is quite smart, but she doesn't always feel the need to share her view on things, especially when it comes to magic and the like. She feels as though she has different views on things and wishes to keep them to herself most of the time. And, she would also prefer to spend her time with animals as opposed to people. Even though most animals can't talk, especially non-magical animals, she still believes they are smarter than most humans. Bess might have felt like an outcast as she was growing up, although she never really was one, she felt like it from time to time. She always did when she was growing up. Even when she was at the orphanage, because she spent her time taking care of the younger children, the children her own age and older would make fun of her. Now, though, it doesn't bother her. She prefers talking to the animals, but beyond that, she's no opposed to conversation among colleagues.

History
Bess was left on the doorstep of Magorium's Orphanage when she was three months old. She was only left with a blanket and nothing to tell the orphanage who she was or where she came from. One wizard in particular, Georg (Gay-Org, not George) Hipswitch, took her under his wing and was the one to name her and was in charge of most of her car. He named her after his mother (Roslynn) and paternal grandmother Elizabeth, the one person in this world he believed was truly a saint and could have done no wrong. He also gave her his mother's maiden name as her last name, nicknaming her Bess Fritz.
She grew up knowing that one day she would attend Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hipswitch himself paid for all the fees and supplies she would need while attending Hogwarts. She was sorted into the house of Hufflepuff, something Hipswitch was proud of, considering he himself had been a Hufflepuff when he had attended Hogwarts. She did everything she could to be at the top of her class. Since she didn't know if she was a full-blood, half-blood, or if she came from non-magic parents, she knew she had to be better than all the rest so no one could say she didn't belong.
It was while Bess was in Hogwarts that she met Wentworth Davenport and thought he was a pompous loof. He was a few years older than her and in another house altogether, but no matter what she did to avoid him, he was always around. It was as if she turned a corner and he'd be there. She'd open a door into a classroom, and he'd be there. She kept at a distance the whole time they were attending together. It wasn't until they were both years out of Hogwarts that anything actually happened between the two of them. They actually fell in love and got married, but for various different reasons, they got divorced...
One of the biggest of which, he wouldn't open up to her. She wanted to know him as she wanted him to know her, but there were just somethings that he chose to keep locked inside, and no matter how much Bess tried, she couldn't break down his wall. She would tell him that she didn't care what it was, she would love him anyhow, but she was sure he didn't believe her. And even though they divorced, she has never stopped loving him. But only Iggy and Fezz know that.
And now, a position as opened up at Hogwarts for the Care of Magical Creatures professor, she wishes to return to Hogwarts, this time as teacher and not a student, of course. Bess does not know however that Wentworth is teaching at Hogwarts. Ever since their divorce there has been no communication between the two of them, and she has chosen it best that she not even find him. They were divorced, and even though she's still in love with him, they were divorced for a reason. That reason hasn't gone away. How will she cope with being able to work with him? Well, that's what she has Fezz and Iggy for.
