Personality
The first anyone should know about Nicolette: she's a manipulative bitch. If she wants something, she is going to get it by whatever means necessary. She has a bit of a process she goes through. First, she tries to sweet talk whoever it is she’s trying to get something from. Usually this will include a slight pout, a little batting of the eye lashes and a lot of complimenting. After all, flattery will get you everywhere. If that doesn’t work, she’ll move into using her “womanly wiles:” leaning over desks and showing ample cleavage, hiking up her skirt, tying her shirt just below her breasts, etc. If that isn’t enough, she’ll add a personal touch - literally, often stroking a man’s arm or chest or rubbing herself up against him. She has even reached the point of having sex with someone to get her way, though those times are rare. If even after all of this nothing has worked, she moves on to anger and magic - threats that can turn into reality if the person she is trying to manipulate doesn’t believe said threats. Because of her “method,” Nicolette is rarely turned down when she truly wants something. However, it has been known to happen, and when that happens, Nic is usually at a loss for words and actions, and will usually admit defeat. Sometimes, if she can, she’ll tell her daddy about what she wants and how someone won’t give it to her. When that happens, there’s usually a 99% chance she will get what she wants.
Nicolette is both a patient and impatient person. Inwardly, she wants what she wants immediately and doesn’t like to be kept waiting, and if someone keeps her waiting long enough, that impatience will burst forth, and she’ll make sure the other person knows just how she feels. However, for the most part, she keeps her cool on the outside, knowing that jumping the gun on a situation and getting mad won’t help her case. Her outward patience helps her in many situations, like when she’s manipulating someone, but it also helps her in fights and duels. Nic has always been good in a fight because of her reflexes. She’s quick on her feet, and she knows how to bide her time before striking, and when she does strike, you had better hope she took mercy on you. And that goes the same for dueling, the one thing that Nic has learned to absolutely love through her time at school. Despite being a worthy opponent, no matter the type of fight, Nicolette almost never is the one to actually start the fight. She forces herself to remain patient because she knows that the majority of the time, a fight isn’t worth it or the other person will start it, and she will most definitely be the one to end it. However, if anyone talks bad about her best friends (and she has few of those), she isn’t afraid to throw the first punch (either literally or figuratively).
Nic is a survivor. She does what she needs to in order to get what she wants which in turn leads her to surviving in her world. Since she’s from a Pureblood family with Pureblood values, her reality is a bit different from others; she is held to different standards by not only her family but also the Ministry (where her dad works) and much of society. That often means being ready to change at a moment’s notice (and not just her clothes). She has taught herself to adapt to almost any situation at the drop of a hat. She also knows how and when to keep her mouth shut in certain situations, which makes her great at keeping secrets, no matter what it might be. Nicolette has many a family secret that she has discovered over the years (like how both of her parents were having affairs) that she has never told anyone before. She’s also heard a few Ministry secrets over the years from when her father, on the very rare occassion, would take her to work. However, along with knowing how to keep her mouth shut, she also knows when blackmailing or blabbing is in her best interest. She’s great at reading situations and people which often allows her to make the most of any given situation. That, and her manipulation skills.
Nicolette is also considered a bit of a whore amongst her fellow students at school, though only the really brave ones tend to say something to her face about it. One of her best friends tends to sleep around, and she has an ongoing friends with benefits relationship with him. Neither of them get emotionally attached because neither tend to believe in emotional relationships, albeit both for different reasons. Nic doesn’t believe in emotional relationships because there are only two different types of relationships that she cares about: a marriage, for money, and a sexual relationship, for really good sex (both of which she doubts will overlap and doesn’t expect them to). She doesn’t believe in true love, as she has never seen it and finds that true love belongs to optimists that believe in fairy tales and happy endings. Even so, there’s a small sliver of hope inside of her that desperately wants to believe in true love.

History
Nicolette grew up in a large mansion on a secluded area off the coast of Eastbourne. Her parents were both of Pureblood descent, something neither of them ever let anyone forget. Her father was a Ministry man; he, like his father and his father’s-father, bought his way into the high-powered position he currently held. He wasn’t a liked man amongst most except for the other wealthy and powerful as they were the only ones with the same snobby attitude that her father held. Nic’s mother was just as bad. She didn’t work; she didn’t need to as her side of the family was almost all gone, leaving her with the majority of the inheritance. Together they consisted of the “perfect” family, at least to anyone who didn’t know them too well.
Growing up, Nicolette didn’t really get to be a “normal” child, so to speak. She had to attend social functions with her parents since her mom popped her out of the womb, and to be honest, Nic liked it that way. She liked feeling special and wanted, and she loved being able to dress up and look extravagant. Because of these functions, she quickly learned how to play the politics, so to speak. Her dad needed them to act like a happy family all the time, and that involved quite a bit of smiling, shaking hands and acting on everyone’s part. See, Nicolette’s dad wasn’t exactly faithful. Of course, neither was her mom, but her mom wasn’t the one trying to kiss ass in the Ministry. Nicolette had actually walked in on her dad and his mistress in a rather...compromising position. At first, she was scarred, but after her dad offered to get her something to keep her mouth shut, she realized the power of blackmail, and that was the beginning of the Nicolette we all know and love (well, maybe not love) today.
Nicolette was probably one of the few students who actually didn’t love the idea of going off to school when her letter came. Sure, she was excited to learn about magic, hone her skills; after all, she wanted to be a powerful witch. However, unlike many other students, she had the advantage of growing up with an au pair, having had home schooling and having gotten to run around a large mansion for all of her childhood. She enjoyed knowing that she could slip the au pair and go do her own thing as long as it wasn’t something that would embarrass her parents. She was afraid that going off to school meant that all of that was going to change.
Oh how wrong she was.
Upon arriving at Hogwarts, Nicolette was extremely excited to have been sorted into Slytherin (the house which both of her parents were in), and she was pleasantly surprised to be met with acceptance. There were a few that knew her name, and those who did immediately sucked up, knowing just how powerful her dad was, which made Nic powerful by association. At least, in their eyes. Nic loved the attention, and she loved the power. She quickly started manipulating them until finally most of her fellow students gave up trying to be close to her. The only ones that wound up sticking around were those that were manipulative and could handle her as well. Throughout school, she did decently in classes. She wouldn’t ditch, knowing that if she did she would hear from her father about it, but she didn’t exactly study a lot, either. She received decent grades, good enough to get her into the N.E.W.T. classes she needed for the Ministry.
In her fifth year, Nicolette had a boyfriend who was a seventh year Slytherin. They dated for about six months before the two of them decided to have sex. A couple days later, the boy broke up with her, leaving Nic heart-broken (though she would never admit it). Up until her relationship, she hadn’t believed in the possibility of love, but once they started their relationship, she thought that maybe, just maybe, she had been wrong. And then he went and proved her right. He went around spreading rumors of her sleeping around with other men which earned her a reputation as a whore amongst her fellow classmates. That’s when she took up smoking and dressing more provocatively. That’s also when she started sleeping with her best friend - no strings attached. It took her awhile to completely cut her emotions off when in any sort of purely physical relationship, but she realized she would rather do that then have to go through another break-up like that. Now in her seventh year, Nicolette is at the top of the Slytherin totem pole so to speak, and her behavior has escalated, though not to the point where it has gotten back to her father. Yet.

Anything Else
In case you couldn't tell...she kinda fears her father.
