Soft like a Woman, Strong Like a Man Easy to Love, and Hard to Understand♉ Bess Fritz ♉ Elizabeth needed a breather. Maybe all of this was more than she thought she could handle. Yes, Bess loved imparting all the knowledge of magical creatures to all these students, but maybe dealing with them was a lot more than she could handle. She just needed a breather, and what better way to do that than to head down to the carnival to set off the beginning of the school year. It was just the needed diversion he needed.
Walking by the Lake where couple's were boarding boats for the magical ride down with the merfolk. Folding her arms over her breasts, a part of her wished she was young again, and in love for the first time. Well, she'd only been in love once, and that was years out of Hogwarts. But she had to wonder what it would be like to be one of those young people, in love, or thinking they were in love. But every time she thought about being in love, she thought about Wentworht.
She didn't want to. She wanted to stop thinking about him, but she couldn't. She couldn't stop thinking about him, because he was everywhere. Yes, she knew he would be, since they were both working here now. It was just like things had been back in school. Except for when she was attending Hogwarts, she tried to avoid him because he annoyed the hell out of her. This time it was because she knew the way he made her feel and she had to stay away from him. She knew she was avoiding him, but it was on purpose.

Post by Thadeus Legion Tarquin VII on Jun 4, 2012 7:05:39 GMT -6
Lover's lake seemed as good as place as any to be sombre and sullen and angry. Thadeus kicked a stone into the perfect looking water, clearly magically enhanced, they were in Britain no normal pool would've looked so gorgeous without a certain amount of chemical or magical 'help' so to speak. His perfectly polished boots made soft sounds as he walked around the lake, his expression set in it's typical hard, angled mode. He was an attractive boy physically but his personality had apparently left a lot to be desired, not that he thought so. Just as his brain was about to justify the boy's loneliness and the hunkering for a friend once more, he shook his head a little, Thadeus had grown tired and weary of attempting to justify how truly lonely he felt. It was a deep, dark weight dragging the rest of his body down deep into the earth. It was a sickening hatred for the relationships be they platonic or romantic of others. He just wanted them all to hate each other and be lonely like him, was that too much to ask? Probably, they just laughed at him as he made his lonely walk around the lake, past cuddling couples and laughing friends and people enjoying themselves. Thadeus wanted them all to hate each other, to just be angry with one another like he was, it wasn't fair how much people loved one another, how much they seemed to enjoy each other's company. It only increased that sinking feeling that he sought to repress every few minutes by tensing his abdominal muscles until they burned.
But to no avail. He sighed half frustrated, half angry and carried on walking past people who paid him no heed, past people who just pointed and whispered and some who laughed once he had passed them by, of course most of the students in the years below feared him, a few in the years above did the same ever since he had cursed the nose off one of people who bullied him when he had first arrived at Hogwarts. He spotted a familiar but out of place figure, walking in a slow, saunterly and lonely fashion that made him feel less abnormal. He was sure it was Professor Fritzpatrick. Urgh, she didn't like him at all, he was sure it was because he had corrected her twice on things that she should really have known about being a professor and all. She had docked him twenty points for that, she was certainly an annoyance but Thadeus felt an almost depressing pang of relief that he wasn't the only lonely person walking round. "Professor Fritzpatrick," he said and walked over to her imperiously his feet moving quicker his hands in his trouser pockets.
"It's nice to see that the professors feel comfortable in the presence of their students." he said with a smile that could've almost been cute had it not come from the well-known Thadeus Tarquin. "Though One cannot help but notice that you have no company, just as I have none,"

Soft like a Woman, Strong Like a Man Easy to Love, and Hard to Understand♉ Bess Fritz ♉ Bess had been completely lost in her thoughts when someone came up beside her. She half expected it to be Wen, but she was grateful to see that it wasn't. She replayed what he said in his head, focusing on it this time. Yes, she was alone. She usually preferred to be alone most of the time, but right now, she was feeling lonely over it. Watching all the couples boarding the boat, she couldn't help but want to be boarding a boat herself. She loved being in a relationship. No, what she loved was being in love, but the only time she ever had been in love had been with Wentworth, and forgetting how she felt about him was what she was trying to do, no matter how hard it was. She thought she had, but being around him had shown her she was completely wrong.
“You're right, Mr. Tarquin,” she acknowledged. “I am completely alone. But that's alright. What about you, she asked, smiling down at him. “Is there anyone you'd like to be riding the boats down to the merfolk with?” She wanted to forget about she was feeling and try to make her student feel better. It would help her quite a bit. She could have been back in her dorm with Iggy, but she thought it would be a good idea to be down with the students and some of the professors enjoying the carnival.”Love isn't all it's made out to be,” Bess said, smiling again. “It is best to keep your heart closed off. That way you don't get hurt.” So, it wasn't exactly how she felt, but it's how she wanted to feel. She wasn't exactly practicing what she preached, she was trying to follow what she was preaching, but it was harder than she ever thought it would be.
Being away from Wen was easy. She'd even been in another relationship since she divorced Wen. She couldn't open her heart to him, no matter how hard she tired, but she did enjoy his attention and being with him. She had even forgot about Wentworth and how he made her feel. But now, she couldn't forget how he felt. She still felt the pain of their divorce and why they divorced all over again. That's why she was doing her best to avoid him. But no one would ever know... Or was she that obvious? Even Tarquin could see she was lonely. “Just protect yourself, Tarquin. It's the only thing you can do to keep yourself from getting hurt.” Bess had been hurt more than anything, opening herself to Wen, but she wasn't going to let anyone see that. She had moved on... at least that's the impression she wanted to make, and she'd do everything she could to keep that up.
